We're all very proud of how hard Veronica worked in the months leading up to this pageant. She spent hours with her coaches and mentors and truly would not have been able to do it without them. Stephanie coached her heavily in interview, and Joni in talent... and she won BOTH divisions. The evening gown didn't turn out as we would have liked and now that she goes to Nationals in August, we are having to put heavy emphasis on that!
She has had two offers to make her dress. She is supposed to have two, one for the preliminaries... but also to have an extra one "just in case". In the meantime she still needs to try a lot of dresses on, and figure out the exact style and color she needs.
She's got to get back to her coaches... and step up her game, and there will also be work on her onstage question & answer. Basically every part needs to be practiced and perfected.
But there are still the Fundraisers to put on: locations to locate, food to plan & prepare, her "trunk show" to prep and items to locate for the Silent Auctions. There are the 53 gifts she needs to find to take for the girls at Nationals, something "Alaskan". We still have travel to plan, tickets and reservations to make, and all of that and more to purchase.
Veronica just did her "head shot" photo shoot today that are needed for a half-dozen projects. We still need to get THE picture for the t-shirts that have to get ordered and made.
Friday she has a recording session for taping her talent song. We may go with just the one... or if we have the dimes to squeeze together, might try doing another song or two for a short "mini-track" that we can use as a fundraising tool.
There are still the appearances she needs to make, and platform related services she needs to perform. We have meetings to sign papers, a meeting with last years Miss Alaska Outstanding Teens mom (a SWEETheart of a lady!) to get the scoop of what I need to know.
Honestly, my stomach turns when I think of all that needs to be done. Time has no mercy on whether I'm feeling well or not. The days continue to march by. So I keep short lists, and nudge things along... and pray... steering Veronica where I can to stay on track. Lord have mercy... we need it.
